The area around Caleta de Fuste has many lovely trails for walks of varying difficulty levels. Most are easy to find due to the openness of the surroundings.
ANTIGUA - TACHA BLANCA
The trail goes in a southern direction along the mountain massif, past the cemetery then through grain cultivation areas towards Tacha Blanca. Once you reach the spring, you will find a shady spot covered with giant reeds and shaded by large trees.
GAYRÍA AND MALPAÍS CHICO
Caldera de Gayría is a volcanic cone spanning 240.90 hectares in two municipalities: Antigua and Tuineje. This was the source of the lava that created the Malpaís Chico badlands that cover a section of the plains. This area has been declared a Natural Monument. This is one of the most recent volcanic formations on the island. It also hosts a nesting area of the Egyptian vulture, an endangered scavenging bird species.
BARRANCO DEL GARABATO
The Garabato ravine emerges on the southern slope of Morro Janana, south-west of Antigua, and is connected to the
La Vega Vieja ravine, creating the Agua de Bueyes ravine, which is the namesake for the village located between Morro
de la Mina, Majada del Charco and Morro del Risco.
